I’ve been really into making fun breakfasts lately. Especially the ones that requires less cooking, healthy and of course inviting. Its important to have breakfast every morning, but what we eat in breakfast is crucial too. Choosing breakfast foods that are rich in whole grains, fiber, and protein while low in sugar, may boost up your energy and shape your eating habits throughout the day. There are many make-ahead and grab-n-go recipes of breakfast which are preferable these days.
Parfaits are easy to assemble, it is layers of yogurt, granola and any kind of fruits you like. Some people like to mix yogurt, granola and chia seeds together and then layer the mixture with fruits. You can prepare parfait a night before but just remember not to add granola in layers as yogurt and fruits makes it soggy. Add handful of granola on top when ready to eat.
There are endless combination you can come up with for a parfait so don’t stop yourself to have exactly these 3 ingredients. For example, how about a chilled Hawaiian Parfait (canned pineapple, mango with toasted coconut flakes on top) for afternoon snack on a hot sunny day or a Raspberry-Chocolate Parfait for low cal dessert or Banana-Chocolate Parfait to satisfy your sweet tooth. You can use any kind of yogurt, any kind of fruits and any kind of granola to make a parfait. Yogurt Berry Parfait is my family favorite.
