Homemade crunchy healthy granola with lots of fibers and good fats. Eat it as a snack or dump it over yogurt or over cold milk.

This is hearty, crunchy and healthy homemade granola which for sure is more tasty than any store bought. It is packed with lots of fibers, healthy fats and other good-for-you ingredients. Granola is my favorite snack to munch on. Dump it over some yogurt and fruits (seriously yummmmm) or on cold milk, it makes a quick breakfast.  You can make a batch of it and store it in an air tight container.

The main ingredient in granola is rolled oats which is vital for this recipe. Do not use quick cooking oats here. Only use old fashioned oats for this recipe. Other accompanying ingredients I have used are not limited. You can always tweak or customize your granola depending on your choice of ingredients. Like I have used only almonds and walnuts, but you can use pecans, cashews or any other nuts. I have used dried cranberries but you can also use other dried fruits like apricots, raisins and cherries. For sweetening, I have used agave nectar but even honey and simple syrup works fine.

All you need to remember is the ratio of dry to wet ingredients. It has to be 6:1, which means 6 cups of dry stuff and 1 cup of wet. Dry ingredients include oats, nuts and seeds. Wet ingredients are vegetable oil and agave nectar. Mix all the ingredients and always bake it in a flat pan, tossing the mixture in between for even cooking. If you are using any dried fruits always remember to add them after granola is baked.
